We’ll create a chew toy that changes colors when the detection of rabies is found in their saliva. This can help communities identify stray dogs that need care and can also help community members know when it is safe to care for a stray dog.

Idea: Disaster Registry / Kennel
In an effort to reunite pet parents with their dogs lost in a disaster, we will develop an app called The Pedigree Disaster Registry™️. We will encourage pet parents in high-risk areas to proactively register their dog with our registry in the case of a disaster. This works in reverse allowing pet parents who have lost their animal in a disaster to reactively create a profile and be notified if thier dog has been found and taken in to a local shelter or The Pedigree Disaster Kennel™️.
In partnership with disaster relief experts, American Red Cross, we will create a kennel for dogs that have been displaced due to a natural disaster. In the event of a flood, forest fire, or earthquake these dogs will be taken care of at no cost to the pet parent.
The Disaster Kennel will engage Red Cross volunteers and be stocked with Pedigree products for all types of dogs.
